Gulettes are nice sailers. If they rigged proper  and easy to handle you can sail more better. There are some kind of riggings types.

For more better sail you need three or more people.  Sure it depends on size of gulet and your hardworking too.

Sure all boats have maintance part like all valuable things which we have.That is changing with material of boat which you produced.If you have sheet iron boat it has about 14 mm sheet iron planking and on sea that is melting everyyear about 1 mm. So you need to renew that parts of  boats once a year or 2 years later.And to have the boats on dry dock regularly will help to you to solve its maintenances more better.And its better for hull part of boats too.For wooden boats its changing.If your boat produced epoxy lamine method or lamine sure these are  more expensive gulettes.But you need to have it to dry dock more less than the other kinds of boats.You can solve renewing of these wooden boats on sea ,because of preparing method of them..But we are suggesting to get them to dry dock too. For checking the  wrongs or renewing details.Sure to spend more high  prices for a boat will necessitate to person to checking it more well even that can be needless maintance too.But it won’t create to you more maintances except unexpectable positions on the sea.Traditional planking gulets should  have on dry dock everyyear for their long lives like iron sheet gulets.If you can do it everyear regularly your gulet can seem new producing after 20 years later.Because everyyear wooden boats spending %10-8 their values on seas. And  if you apply maintance more less your gulet will get older more fast.After you have  the gulets on dry dock Firstly you should clean the foal bottom , than to chance zincs and apply two coats of antiforling. After  these  you need to varnish the varnished areas of boat at least once a year;more better twice in  a year.And after all these you need to make periodic machine  and machinery services,engine service,store the ropes and sails after washing clean water.
